Jaguar XKE Numbers Identification 1961-1974

Posted on 01 January 2012 by Admin

The Jaguar XKE VIN is stamped on a factory builders plate that is fixed with rivets to the right-hand frame cross member just below the fuel feed line filter. (next to the air cleaner) Just the chassi nº is also stamped on the frame just above the right top shock mount. (It could be covered with layers of paint)

You can find your VIN car number on this plate and as well vital and useful information on engine number, body number and gearbox number to identify your car and crucial in restoration and in ordering the right Jaguar XKE parts for your classic.

As well, you will see a complete list of the original recommended lubricants at the time.
